A cult classic of Nike Basketball’s mid-90s golden era, the Nike Air Unlimited has long been one of those when-will-they-retro-it old favorites. Well, we now have an answer: soon.
Popularized back in 1994 by the likes of David Robinson and Chris Webber, the 2016 Nike Air Unlimited looks intriguingly faithful to that original. The Carnivore-like upper rocks its familiar bootie-style hightop and crisscrossing, lockdown-inducing strap, set above a chunky sole that absolutely screams “90s.”
Going the understated route, one of the first retro colorways of the year will be a jet black edition that’d look rather fitting with the Admiral’s Spurs gear. Or, y’know, your old sweatpants and “Saved by the Bell” T-shirt.
The Nike Air Unlimited 2016 retro has long been anticipated for the end of the year, and it’s looking like it could hit shelves just about any week now. Stay tuned, and check out an early detailed look below.
