How To Clean Sneakers

As sneakers make their way into everyone’s closets, I figured it would be a good time to discuss how to clean those sneakers and keep them fresh out of the box.

Over the past few years, sneakers have been on quite the ride of noderity. The assimilation and influence of culture on your society had resulted in somewhat of an osmosis of incredible kicks. We have seen Jordans come back with vigor as well as companies like Adidas, New Balance, and Yeezy jump into the sneaker market; while old time heads continue to scoop up the latest drops and sell them at their own price.

It is a culture and community that is inclusive and caring with lots of potential for profit. The community itself will continue to stay strong in their roots, but their influence on society as a whole is one that is incredibly understated. As sneakers make their way into everyone’s closets, I figured it would be a good time to discuss how to clean those sneakers and keep them fresh out of the box.

Shoe MGK has got you and your kicks covered no matter what material is on there. Our Cleaner and Conditioner will work on your canvas side paneling, suede toe box, and leather uppers. It works on all materials and will do the best job across the board.

Here is the step by step guide for how to clean sneakers:

  1. I always start by removing the laces and soaking them in a solution of Shoe MGK Cleaner and Conditioner and water. If the laces are white and old, I will usually just replace them.
  2. Dampen your bristle brush or soft rag and apply a small amount of solution to the brush. Rub the brush into all areas of the shoe making sure to completely cover the surface.
  3. Wipe excess bubbles and dirt away to see how you did. If there are still stubborn spots, repeat steps 2 and 3.
  4. Re-lace your kicks and let them dry out of the sun, for the sun can cause colors to fade and bleed.

The Shoe MGK cleaner and conditioner is perfect for removing dirt and stains from any material on your sneakers. The Clean and Protect kit features the Cleaner as well as our Water and Stain repellent. This repellent should be applied before the shoe is first worn. It will form a weather-proof layer of protection that will keep your sneaks’ clean for much longer. It can also be used to remove stubborn stains that the Cleaner and Conditioner can’t remove.

There are many shoe cleaners and shoe cleaner kits out there in the world. Most of them will do a decent job on your shoes, but for your sneakers? For your brand new Off White x Air Jordan 4’s? They deserve better. No. Your sneakers deserve the best. Your sneakers deserve Shoe MGK. Respect Your Shoes.
